The transfer from Everyone Active (SLM) to Freedom Leisure took place on Tuesday 1 August 2023.
Leisure centres and museums
As of 1 August 2023 leisure and cultural facilities in the district are provided by Freedom Leisure, this includes three leisure centres and the Corinium Museum & Resource Centre.
Our vision is to ‘improve lives through leisure’ and along with the teams at your leisure centre and the museum we intend to do just that and make a visit rewarding, social, welcoming and fun.

Yes, all the great staff that have served you in the past will remain. Please bear with our colleagues as we change the systems and procedures that will be new to them and we thank you for your patience and understanding through the transfer.

You will be able to view opening hours, timetables and details of how to contact your centre on the above links as well as making bookings online and through the new Freedom Leisure App.
We don’t anticipate any changes to the website for Corinium Museum and https://coriniummuseum.org/ will remain as is.
No, we are not envisaging any closures.
The opening hours will remain as they are currently and all timetables will be the same post transfer. We will however be looking to make improvements and expanding the programme over time and we’ll notify you of any changes post transfer.
You can now book online via the Freedom Leisure website or download the Freedom Leisure app here: https://www.freedom-leisure.co.uk/download-our-app/ You will need to create a new account on the app as your old login for the SLM Everyone Active app won’t work.
Yes, we will be open as normal and we look forward to welcoming you. We will be doing everything we can to avoid any unnecessary disruption but please bear with our colleagues during this time as it will take a little time to get all our systems up and running.
It is our intention to continue with the normal swimming lesson programme so please attend your leisure centre lessons as normal. You can check our timetables here:
No, your details will be passed across to us along with any advance bookings already in place. If you wish to contact us please email us and a member of the team will be able to assist you with your enquiry:
You will be contacted directly regarding your direct debit due on or around 1 August 2023 but there is nothing you need to do or change. We will contact all our direct debit members by email informing you of the change of name to Wealden Leisure Limited (t/a Freedom Leisure). You will not need to amend your direct debit, we will change your direct debit for you but please be assured, the price you pay now is the price you will pay on your next direct debit collection.
All prices will remain the same at the point of transfer.
Your membership details will be provided to us by Everyone Active (SLM) as part of the transfer process so you will be able to access the facilities for the duration of your membership as you do now.
If your current membership allows you to use all these centres then this will be the case on and after 1 August 2023.
Yes, this will continue at the point of transfer.
Stroud Leisure Centre will continue to be managed by Everyone Active (SLM) so unfortunately you won’t be able to continue to use Cirencester post the transfer.
Museums

Cotswold motoring museum
Awarded visitor attraction of the year by the Heart of England tourist board, the museum has a wonderfully nostalgic atmosphere. It is the home of Brum, the much-loved children's television character. Visit Cotswold Motoring Museum.
Corinium museum
Leave the 21st century behind you and discover the treasures of the Cotswolds as you explore its history at this award winning museum. Home to one of the largest collections of Roman-British antiquities extensively from Corinium, roman Britain's second largest city. Visit Corinium Museum.
Chedworth Roman villa
The remains of a well preserved roman villa set in a peaceful wooded Cotswold combe. Thirty-two rooms including 2 complete bath suites. Visitor centre and museum. Fine 4thC mosaics. Lots of events throughout the year. A chance to see roman Britain at its grandest and imagine life in the 3rd and 4th century. Visit Chedworth Roman Villa.
Cotswold woollen weavers mill and museum
Unique working woollen mill and museum in beautiful 18th century buildings. Large mill shop for Cotswold woven garments, knitwear, throws and accessories. Light refreshments available. Visit Cotswold Woollen Weavers.
Court Barn museum
Court Barn Museum celebrates the talented designers and craftspeople who have worked in Chipping Campden and the North Cotswolds since the beginning of the twentieth century. This is a story of the arts and crafts movement and its legacy, a story of how a small town in a beautiful setting became a gathering place for designers and craftspeople of national and international reputation. Gordon Russell museum
The museum, located in the original grade 11 listed workshop, celebrates the work of the renowned 20th century furniture designer, Sir Gordon Russell MC, and that of his company over a period of sixty years in Broadway, Worcestershire. Visit Gordon Russell Museum.
Hailes Abbey
Built in the 13th century by the Duke of Cornwall, the beautiful ruins of the once wealthy Hailes Abbey are set amid delightful Cotswold countryside. The serene and peaceful atmosphere makes it the perfect spot for a picnic. Let the excellent audio tour and new interpretation panels bring the story of Hailes to life and discover how a phial, allegedly of Christ’s own blood, attracted pilgrims from far and wide. The on site museum houses displays of sculpture and other site finds. After visiting the abbey, pop into the adjacent parish church to see the fine medieval wall paintings. Visit Hailes Abbey.
The Old Mill
A watermill dating from 1880 with a working water wheel. Now contains a small mill museum, shop, ice-cream parlour and riverside tea room. In a picturesque village setting. Visit The Old Mill.
The Tetbury Police Museum & Courtroom
Tetbury Police Museum is located, along with the town council offices, at the town's former Victorian police station and courthouse in Long Street. The museum is primarily dedicated to the history of the Gloucestershire Constabulary, which was founded in 1839, but it also houses the largest collection of handcuffs and restraints on public view in the United Kingdom.
